The Benefit of Jewelery Boxes

Jewelery Boxes

As people live out their lives most find that their special occasions and precous life events are often marked with a piece of jewelry. The birth of a child is often celebrated with a baby ring or special keepsake for the new Mom. Mother's rings have become a fashion statement to honor children. Perhaps the new Dad presents the new Mom with a piece of jewelry to honor the birth of their child. Weddings are almost always celebrated with the exchange of rings and anniversary dates are yet another occassion to celebrate with jewelry. As life moves on the jewelry accumulates!

A marvelous way to contain the jewelry that takes a lifetime to acquire is a jewellery box. It serves a double purpose of containing the lovely pieces that have been acquired but also serves as a tribute to the jewelry itself.

Intead of placing items in drawers or leaving them on surfaces to gather dust the placement of the piece of jewelry in a special jewelry box seems to add deeper significance to the piece itself. Most jewelry is not picked out with reckless abandon. Instead, much thought and care is given to the selection of jewelry. Think about it, when you choose a piece of jewelry for yourself you are very thoughful about the process and you are equally as thoughtful when you purchase a piece for someone else. It simply makes good sense to store jewelry in a special jewelry box.

Containers for jewelry come in a wide array of sizes, shape and forms. There are jewellery boxes that are literally pieces of furniture. They can be quite tall with drawers and compartments to store individual pieces in. They come in a variety of woods and finishes to be a compliment to the other furniture in the room. Jewellery boxes also come in table top sizes and in very interesting shapes. It is not uncommon to see them decorated like small treasure chests or elaborate boxes. This does seem appropriate since our most precious treasures are stored in them. Most of all, they become memory makers and allow us to share and present our treasures to others.
